The thermostat settings that cut your energy bill

Heating and cooling are the biggest energy costs in most homes. The good news: you do not need a new system to cut them, just smarter settings.

Set back, do not switch off

Lowering the temperature by 3–4 degrees while you sleep or are out saves more than turning the system off and blasting it later.

Heat the rooms you use

Smart radiator valves let you heat the living room in the evening and bedrooms at night, instead of the whole house all day.

  • Living areas: 20–21°C when in use
  • Bedrooms: 16–18°C at night
  • Empty rooms: 12–15°C

Change the filter

A clogged filter makes your system work harder for less air. Check it monthly in peak seasons and change it at least every three months. Servicing plan members get a new filter at every visit.
